This innovative design ensures the load is reliably halted at any desired position and precisely controls the balance of movement when the load is lowered. Overcenter valves are ingeniously designed to manage the stop and motion of actuators. Single overcenter valves control one direction, while dual overcenter valves adeptly manage both directions of an actuator's motion.
Functions:
- Load Lowering Control: The load descends only when a pilot pressure is applied from another line, ensuring a consistent oil supply to the cylinder and preventing cavitation issues.
- Pressure Containment: Maintains pressure at a set value, providing pressure relief during peaks caused by shocks or overloads.
- Flow and Load Arrest: Stops the flow and the load when the pump is idle or the directional valve is in the neutral position.
- Free Flow for Load Lifting: Facilitates load lifting with minimized pressure drops, ensuring efficient operation.

- Check Valve: Allows flow in a single direction only.
- Pilot Piston: Gradually controls the opening of the relief valve.
