Introduction

The counterbalance valve is a special type of hydraulic control valve that combines the functions of a check valve and a relief valve for use in hydraulic systems to achieve precise control of loads in both directions.

Bidirectional counterbalance valves usually consist of two check valves that control the inflow and outflow of oil. When the oil flows in one direction, one check valve opens to allow the oil to flow, while the other closes to prevent the oil from flowing in the opposite direction. When the system pressure changes, the valve adjusts its opening accordingly to maintain the set pressure differential.
