Introduction

A counterbalance valve, also known as a hydraulic counterbalance valve or load-holding valve, is a control element in a hydraulic system that is mainly used to maintain pressure when a hydraulic cylinder or motor stops moving, preventing the load from dropping due to gravity or other external forces.

Counterbalance valves usually contain one or more check valves inside, these check valves open when the system pressure is higher than the set value, allowing the oil to flow; when the system pressure drops below the set value, the check valves close, preventing the oil from flowing backward.
