Hydraulic Valve Flow Control Valve Hydraulic Lock with Cast Steel
A hydraulic lock, also known as a Pilot Operated Check Valve or a Pilot Operated Locking Valve, is a type of valve that is used in hydraulic systems to control the unidirectional flow of fluid and to be able to lock the position of the fluid when required.
The principle of operation of a hydraulic lock usually involves a main valve and one or more control valves. The main valve controls the unidirectional flow of fluid, while the control valves provide opening or closing control of the main valve by controlling the supply of pressurized oil.
Hydraulic locks can be designed in different forms including, but not limited to, slide-valve type, ball-valve type, etc. to accommodate different operating pressures, flow rates and installation requirements.

How Does It Work?
Hydraulic locks typically function using check valves or pilot-operated valves. A standard check valve restricts fluid flow to a single direction, thereby maintaining pressure within a particular section of the hydraulic system. Conversely, a pilot-operated check valve, which includes an additional control feature, can be opened under specific conditions-such as the application of pilot pressure-effectively releasing the lock.
