Dual Overcenter Valves
Balancing valves play a pivotal role in hydraulic systems, particularly in construction machinery and various mechanical applications where movement is controlled by gravity. These sophisticated valves ensure consistent performance by balancing the return oil back pressure with the evolving load, thereby guaranteeing the load remains securely fixed at a specific position. Furthermore, they meticulously manage the balance of movement when a load is being lowered, effectively preventing the load from descending too rapidly, which could otherwise lead to potential damage to structural components, hydraulic parts, and pipelines.
Overcenter valves are essential for regulating the stop and motion of actuators. Single overcenter valves control one direction, while dual overcenter valves govern both directions, ensuring precise and reliable operation in each application.
Key Functions:
- Load Lowering Control: Ensures the load can only be lowered if there is pilot pressure from the opposite line, preventing cavitation by maintaining a steady oil supply to the cylinder.
- Pressure Containment: Maintains system pressure at the set value and provides pressure relief to protect against peaks caused by shocks or overloads.
- Flow Arrest: Halts the flow and the load when the pump is inactive or when the directional valve is in a neutral position, ensuring safety and stability.
- Free Flow for Lifting: Facilitates easy load lifting with minimized pressure drops for efficient operation.
Components housed within the body include:
- Check Valve: Allows fluid flow in one direction only, ensuring controlled and unidirectional movement.
- Pilot Piston: Enables gradual opening of the relief valve, providing precise control over the system.
- Relief Valve: Limits the maximum pressure in the actuator, securely withholds the load, and regulates its descent via pilot signal activation.
