Dual Overcenter Valves
Balancing valves are indispensable in the hydraulic systems of construction machinery and various mechanical setups that are lowered by gravity. These sophisticated devices feature a hydraulic circuit designed to balance the return oil back pressure with fluctuating loads. This ensures the load can be reliably halted at a specific position and manages the balance of movement when lowering the load, effectively preventing excessive descent speed that could damage structural components, hydraulic parts, and pipelines.
Overcenter valves are critical for controlling the stop and motion direction of actuators. Single overcenter valves manage one direction, while dual overcenter valves oversee both directions, ensuring precision and reliability in operations.
Functions:
- Load Lowering Control: The load descends only when there is pilot pressure from the other line, guaranteeing the cylinder's oil supply and preventing cavitation issues.
- Pressure Containment: These valves maintain pressure at a set value and offer pressure relief for peaks caused by shocks or overloads.
- Flow and Load Arrest: They halt the flow (and load) when the pump is inactive or the directional valve is in a neutral position.
- Free Flow for Load Lifting: Allows load lifting with minimized pressure drops, ensuring efficiency and safety.
These valves are composed of:
- Check Valve: Permits flow in only one direction, ensuring operational safety.
- Pilot Piston: Controls the gradual opening of the relief valve, allowing for precise pressure management.
- Relief Valve: Limits maximum pressure in the actuator, retains the load, and regulates its descent during valve opening by the pilot signal, ensuring smooth and safe operations.
