Dual overcentervalves
Balancing valves are the cornerstone of hydraulic systems in construction machinery and other gravity-lowered mechanical forms. These essential components feature a hydraulic circuit that adeptly balances the return oil back pressure with variable load conditions. This ensures the load can be reliably halted at a desired position. Furthermore, they meticulously control the balance of movement when the load is being lowered, preventing excessive descent speed that could otherwise cause deleterious damage to structural parts, hydraulic components, and pipelines.
Overcenter valves are pivotal in governing the stop and motion of actuator directions. Single overcenter valves are dedicated to controlling one direction, whereas dual overcenter valves manage both, ensuring precision and safety in hydraulic operations.
Functions:
- Load Lowering Control: The load lowering is facilitated only if there is pilot pressure from the opposite line. This operation ensures the cylinder receives a consistent oil supply, effectively preventing cavitation problems.
- Pressure Containment: These valves maintain pressure at the set value and provide pressure relief for any peaks caused by shocks or overloads, ensuring system integrity.
- Flow Arrest: They halt the flow (and the load) when the pump is inactive or the directional valve is in a neutral position, providing a fail-safe mechanism.
- Load Lifting Free Flow: They allow for unrestricted load lifting with minimized pressure drops, optimizing operational efficiency.
These sophisticated valves comprise a body housing the following major components:
- Check Valve: Facilitates flow in a single direction, ensuring unidirectional movement.
- Pilot Piston: Allows for the controlled, gradual opening of the relief valve, enhancing precision.
- Relief Valve: Limits the maximum pressure within the actuator, secures the load, and regulates its descent during valve opening prompted by the pilot signal.
